It has been announced that the plaza in front of Daimaru Takashimaya, which Osaka City has been developing in the Namba area, will open in advance as “Namba Square” on November 23rd.
An event will also be held in November!
What is “Namba Hiroba”?
This is a maintenance project that was planned to turn the plaza in front of Nankai Namba Station and Nansan Street, which is adjacent to the plaza, into a pedestrian paradise. Full-scale construction began in November 2022.
There is also a stage attached, making Namba Station even more exciting! ?
A large bench resembling a stage will be installed in the plaza to allow for 11 events and other events, increasing the ease of movement around Namba Station and aiming to create even more liveliness.
Construction is expected to be completed in March 2025.
Nansan Street, which is scheduled to merge with
Nansan Street, and which extends to the southeast of the same square, will undergo construction work such as moving utility poles underground, and is scheduled to be completed as a pedestrian paradise in March 2025.
The mayor of Osaka is also looking forward to his enthusiasm.

On the day of the preliminary opening, a victory parade between the Hanshin Tigers and Orix Buffaloes will also be held on Midosuji. Midosuji Street is also undergoing renovation work, including the expansion of sidewalks. While North is progressing in development, Minami is also expected to be revitalized.
A preliminary event will also be held on November 23rd.
