February means Valentine’s Day ❤️During

The theme of 2024 Amour du Chocolat is “Encounter”. It becomes.
From the beauty and rich fragrance of art pieces to the unique culture of each country, to new sensibilities and ways to enjoy them. Filling a small grain with new surprises and joy.
Please enjoy encountering the endless passion of chocolatiers and the wonderful chocolates created by their outstanding skills. That’s why
Amour du Chocolat is a place where each chocolatier creates and exhibits “encounter” chocolates based on their respective themes.
About the origin of Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day originates from February 14, 1207 AD, a day dedicated to the saint Valentinus, who was killed for rebelling against the Roman Emperor Claudius’s ban on marriage. Since around the 14th century, this season, which heralds the arrival of spring, has been the perfect time for confessions of love, so it is said that it has become a day for young people to confess their love and give gifts to propose.
In Japan, the culture of Valentine’s Day began to take root in Japan in 1936, when Mr. Kuzuno placed an advertisement for a box of chocolates in an English-language newspaper with the message, “Let’s give chocolates on Valentine’s Day.” At the time, chocolate companies ran campaigns during the Valentine’s Day sales season, and Valentine’s Day became popular as a day for women to confess their love to men by giving them chocolates.
I actually went there on a weekday evening!
Yesterday, the Tora Guide editorial department (Gourmet Manager: Taiga) actually visited the Takashimaya Osaka store and would like to report on it. I thought there was still a long way to go until Valentine’s Day, but the venue was so hot. . was.
Very crowded even on weekdays! If you love chocolate ❤️, you’ll be thrilled at this venue that everyone admires.
It was around 4pm when we arrived at the special venue on the 7th floor. Although it was a cold weekday evening in the middle of winter, the venue was crowded with many people.
Many pamphlets are distributed immediately after entering the entrance on the first floor.
Just going up the floor while looking at the pamphlet is exciting.
I entered the venue after looking at the pamphlet in advance, and the special venue was filled with chocolates from various booths, making it an exciting display for everyone.
Featured chocolates that can only be found here now are competing
Unique products such as jewel-like chocolates, delicately crafted items, and toys are available.
This and that… It was a huge crowd, and this line…
What attracted a lot of attention at the venue was the [Galette au Beurre] demonstration sales corner. Many people stopped and waited in line to watch a demonstration of galettes, which are unique in Kansai, being baked right in front of your eyes.
I also lined up to buy
[Galette au Beurre] Karite Extra (Chocolat)
You can feel the richness of French fermented butter and the bittersweet taste of chocolate. This is the only place in Kansai where you can enjoy demonstration sales.

summary
I went there for a short time in January, right after the event, and it was really exciting.
It was very stimulating to be able to feel first-hand not only the enthusiasm of the customers, but also the creativity and energy of each chocolatier.
There are booths in the exhibition hall where you can eat parfaits and ice cream on the spot, so you can enjoy it with both your eyes and your tongue.
